DRAMA TEACHER
As an educator in the performing arts, my job was to provide comprehensive instruction in the areas of theatre, musical theatre, and improvisation. My pedagogical approach involved guiding my students through a range of techniques and methodologies, promoting a deep understanding of the art of performance and helping them to hone their skills.
As a theatre instructor, I sought to instill in my students an appreciation for the cultural history of this discipline while also imparting a strong theoretical and practical understanding of drama. Through my own methodology, which involved integrating the visual arts with theatre, I provided students with the tools they needed to create and develop their own artistic make-up and become confident and expressive performers.
In addition to theatre instruction, I also focused on teaching musical theatre, an exciting and dynamic form of performance that combines elements of drama, music, and dance. My teaching in this area included guidance in voice, song interpretation, choreography and stage movement training.
Finally, my expertise in improvisation allowed me to provide my students with the skills necessary to think quickly, collaborate effectively with others, and embrace the power of spontaneity and creativity in their performances.
I believe that my differential in the profession is to be able to, through the creation of my own methodology, enable any child to sing, dance, and act in the theater. My business partner, Fernanda Cadete, and I have been able to prove this countless times in our musicals. Over the course of 13 years in our career, we have achieved incredible results where various children and teenagers, including those as young as 3 years old, as well as those with special needs, were able to independently perform in various internationally recognized musicals without any adult on stage. It's worth noting that all of these children and teenagers were accepted and included in our projects based on their desire to fulfill their dreams of being artists, rather than being selected through any skill tests. Our work has always been noticed and applauded by families, audiences, and the media. However, unfortunately, our country does not value such achievements, and once again, I emphasize that art teachers like us have no means of obtaining recognition through incentive awards for art educators.
Overall, my goal as an educator in the performing arts has always been to inspire and empower my students to develop their talents and become expressive, skilled, and confident performers.
